It’s MONDAAAAAY! I can’t believe the weekend is over … again. I tell you, 2 rest days isn’t enough. How was your weekend? Hope you had enough R’n R to face the week ahead. The spirit of halloween is very much alive, but it’ll subside soon because the Christmas season is coming! Hurray!
Anyhoo, I’m starting a weekly blog series called Currently. Judging by the title, I think you already guys know what it is. So, let’s jump right into it!
READING: The Maze Runner by James Dashner
I just started last night and have gone through until the first two pages of Chapter 2 before I dozed off. To be honest, I’ve already watched the movie but my officemate told me that there were MAJOR differences from the book – my deciding factor to read it. Oh, and Minho~! Ki Hong Lee is major eye candy!
LISTENING: Come On Eileen by Dexy Midnight Runners
I totally forgot about this song until it was played in the office. You might have heard it in The Perks of Being A Wallflower. Sam and Patrick danced away their living room routine to this song. This has been permanently placed in my good vibes playlist on Spotify.
THINKING: OT kaya this week?
Work never stops when you’re in Advertising. Hell breaks loose in the office last month because it’s pitch season + other tasks. I’m super thankful to my officemates for keeping me sane and happy despite the very stressful month.
I think medyo kalmado na this week pero I have the feeling na hindi pa din.
FEELING: Scared and disappointed in myself
2015 is almost over and I’m really scared how time flies. For the past few weeks, I’ve been spending more time in the office than at home because of deadliest deadlines. I only get to talk and hang out with my family during weekends and sometimes during breakfast (that’s roughly 10 minutes every morning).
“We are so busy growing up, we often forget that they’re also growing old.”
I came across this quote a few months ago and it really struck me. When I lost my Dad in 2015, I promised him that I’ll take care of my Mom no matter what. As much as possible, I want to hang out with her and treat her to nice places. For the past 3 years, I’ve been focusing too much in my career than spending my time with her. It really makes me sad because I forgot the fact that she’s growing old too.
WANTING: To Travel
My last adventure was 3 months ago when we had a team building at Bataan and my wanderlust is getting stronger by the minute. When I have time to kill, I usually do mock flight bookings and browse travel blogs just to satisfy my longing to travel.
My friends and I were planning to visit our friend who’s currently doing her internship in Kuala Lumpur by the end of November, but we haven’t talked about our plan so I’m guessing we’re not pushing through anymore – I’m kinda bummed about it.
LOVING: The Sims 4
I got the game last last weekend and I’m totally hooked! I had to stop myself from playing ’til the wee hours of the morning because I have work today. Fast-forward to next weekend please!
MISSING: Haru (My Cat)
Last August, we were shocked (I was devastated) when he passed away. Haru was the second cat given to me by my mom. He’s a siamese-persian mix and was already a few months old when he got here. I swear I instantly fell in love when I first saw him. Compared to my first baby, Michiko, he was sweeter and closer to me. He always greets me when I get home and literally follows me everywhere.
I cried in the office when my mom texted me that he’s already gone. My attention span went from a big pumpkin to a little pea – I couldn’t focus at work. Even my teammates were consoling me, but I had to go down and sit alone for a few minutes.
Sigh~ I really miss my little furball.
There you go. I hope you enjoy this new blog series. Cheers to the week ahead!
